The Journey begins...

Let me just start out with a quick point: although most of the content on this site, like the art, stories, and descriptions are AI generated (with quite a few tweaks, tbh), what you read here on the blog will written purely by me, Brett Black, the one man show of BBairt.
Why am I doing this? It's not all about money...but then again...it is. I need a side hustle, I don't need it to make me a millionaire, just something that can help support our family goal: to bring my stepdaughter, her husband, and our three grandkids from the Phillipines to the United States.
See I am one half of an incredibly happy marriage. My wife Jessette and I got married about five years ago now, then, not more than mere weeks after she received her work permit the pandemic hit.
We were lucky enough to stay working the whole time, with her being especially busy being employed in a grocery store...but instead of telling you entire story right now I'm just gonna go the "long story short" method: I have never met my new family (that is those that are still in the Phillipines) in person, and the cost of bringing them here and supporting them will be quite high for a humble, working class couple such as ourselves. Throw in the fact that we live in beautiful (for the most part) and expensive (for all parts) Seattle, and the goal becomes harder to reach, but not impossible.
And oh my goodness I am loving working on this site. This all began about three weeks ago, I had just begun working on an Etsy shop where I was planning to sell t-shirts and jerseys of my own design (which you will see on this site someday shortly). Then I got a fateful text from my buddy Alex telling me about an AI Art Generator called Midjourney. I really enjoyed making ideas come to life with the truly remarkable tool, and found that I was able to use these designs for posters, canvas prints, t-shirts, and all sorts of merchandise.
Now is that fair to real artists with paint and brushes, be it literal or digital, who spend days, weeks, years perfecting their craft? That's a very interesting question, indeed, and not one I am really ready or qualified to answer, but I will tell you this: putting all of this together is an extremely laborious.
I work full-time at a job that that, although I have to be alert and ready to provide five star service at the drop of a hat, I admittedly have a lot of free time on my hands. Producing this website has taken every minute of that time and more, when I get home I'm working on BBairt, when I'm in bed i'm working on BBairt, when I'm watching shows with Jess, my amazing wife, who is horribly addicted to The Walking Dead (I warned her its eleven seasons)...I'm working on BBairt. And like I said, I love it. I love figuring out how to solve problems and teach myself how to improve the site, one day at a time.
Point being is that although I don't have many products up at this point, and some days you might not see much changing and figure i've flaked out on it, know that I'm always working on it, being making art on Midjourney, upscaling work on photoshop, posting to Instagram (that's just starting too), and A LOT of research on how to make this site better for you.
Over the next few weeks the growth will be slow as I put together the processes, but once those are in place, expect things to ramp up quickly. One thing you will notice is that I'll be adding some YouTube videos and audio files to some of the pieces (eventually all I hope) so you can hear the story of each unique work.
Anyways I gotta go pick up the wife. Thanks for reading, and hey, know that if you buy anything from BBairt it's going to a good cause.
